Peace & Love
(Patchouli) Patchouli’s scent—woody, sweet, and spicy—has strong associations with the counterculture movement of the 1960s and ’70s and its ideals. This candle will be a sensory cue for some, while for others the calming scent of patchouli is simply a very pleasant addition to their surroundings. Part of our AbaLux Collection, Peace & Love is housed in lovely, reusable, magenta-glazed ceramic containers handmade individually by Natalie Flores Luxat. Hand-blended and hand-poured in small batches, Peace & Love is crafted from coconut-apricot wax, premium fragrance and essential oil, and it has an organic cotton wick. The large candle burns for up to 50 hours; the small candle burns for up to 28 hours.
How to use
Trim the wick to one-quarter inch before each use (we suggest a wick trimmer). To prevent tunneling, let the candle burn for approximately three hours the first time you light it and allow the melted wax to reach the edge of the container. To reuse: when the candle has completed burning, handwash the ceramic container (the wax is soft and easily removed) and reuse it as a cup, a holder, a planter, or other decoration. The cup can hold hot or cold beverages. Handwash only.
Do not leave burning candles unattended; always extinguish candles when you leave a room, before you go to sleep, or if the flame gets too close to the container. Keep lit candles at least two feet away from anything flammable, including books, clothing, and curtains. Keep lit candles away from air currents, drafts, and fans. Make sure lit candles are on a stable, heat-resistant surface that can catch any melted wax. Be careful when handling burning candles as the containers can be hot to the touch. Do not burn candles for more than four hours at any one time; to be safe, discontinue burning candles when one-quarter inch of wax remains in the container. For best results, do not blow candles out—snuff them out.
